Library Displays are Happy Opportunities to Captivate and Collaborate

An example of a bulletin. Make Waves at one of our programs, be like Swimmy from Leo Leonni's story.
Mentor Mary J. meeting my newborn son, Hunter.

Mary mentored me in the art of bulletin board displays. We began collaborating with the Goldilocks display inspired by Byron Barton’sThe Three Bears. She created the bears and pumpkins. Mary challenged me to create Goldilocks. I made program flyers using Canva.

Our next display featured The Snowy Day. I often used leftover program art (the grinch and the haunted house, pictured above) by Sarah, our teen librarian, while prepping program flyers.

Our displays required changing on a seasonal / quarterly basis. Our in-room displays featured holidays and monthly themes (e.g. Black History Month, Women’s History Month, National Library Week, Hispanic Heritage Month, Pride, Mental Health, etc.)
